August 19, 2026

Dear Barksdale Baptist Church Family,
If you were unable to join us for our Building a Legacy Campaign Kickoff, I wanted to take a moment to share with you what God is doing and how you can be part of this exciting season in the life of our church.
Building a Legacy is an extension of the vision we began pursuing through Vision 2026. Our desire is to plan for the future today so that Barksdale Baptist Church is positioned to reach the next generation and continue carrying the Gospel forward for years to come.
Before we look ahead, I want us to celebrate what God has already done. Phase 1 of Building a Legacy has been fully funded through your faithful giving, totaling $125,000. Those funds have allowed us to make important technology improvements and updates to our church facilities. These investments are helping position Barksdale to minister more effectively today and prepare for tomorrow.
Now we are moving into Phase 2, with a goal of raising $125,000. Phase 2 will focus on completing upgrades to our sanctuary, including:
•New carpet throughout the sanctuary
•300 new chairs
•A state-of-the-art stage upgrade
•Updated stage lighting
•An enhanced media control center
•A modern entry into the dining area
These improvements are about much more than buildings and equipment. They are about creating an environment where people can encounter Christ, families can grow together, children can learn about Jesus, and the Gospel can continue to reach South Bossier and beyond.
I am asking every member of our church to Pray. Give. Invite.
Pray and ask God how He wants you to participate.
Give as the Lord leads you, remembering that we are investing in the future of Barksdale Baptist Church and the Kingdom work God has entrusted to us.
Invite someone to be part of what God is doing in our church.
If you were unable to attend the kickoff, please take time to review the Building a Legacy materials and prayerfully consider how God would have you participate. Pledge cards should be turned in by Sunday, October 18, our Building a Legacy Commitment Sunday. We will celebrate together that day as we commit ourselves to this vision for the future.
We are also asking our church family to participate in upcoming prayer opportunities, including home prayer gatherings beginning the week of August 23. Our desire is that this campaign would be covered in prayer from beginning to end.
One of the statements shared during our kickoff captured the heart of legacy so well: We are planting trees today that we may never get to enjoy the shade from—but future generations will.
That is what Building a Legacy is about.
I believe God has great things ahead for Barksdale Baptist Church. I believe our future is bright when we remain faithful to His calling, and I believe there are generations yet to be reached with the Gospel through this church.
Thank you for loving Barksdale Baptist Church, for praying for our future, and for faithfully following God's leading. I am grateful to serve as your pastor, and I am excited to see what God will do through us.
Let's move forward together with faith, unity, and expectation.
Our Legacy. Our Future. His Glory.
With love and gratitude,

Josh Cagle
Senior Pastor
